Driven by engineers
Alpitronic's engineering expertise ensures quality throughout the value chain to meet our customers' needs by providing the best technological solutions.
Our mission
We lead the world towards sustainable mobility by inspiring people with innovative and reliable solutions built on the highest technological standards.
Power electronics is in our DNA
Our extensive experience in the area of power electronics forms the bedrock of our expertise and was key to our development of the Hypercharger, our cutting-edge DC fast charger. Now, this background informs our expertise and defines our path forward.
Alpitronic began as a provider of custom, high-tech power electronic systems to automotive, aerospace, and industrial manufacturers. Our vast experience in this field was key to developing our innovative Hypercharger DC fast charger. It also led us to establish a lab equipped with state-of-the-art measurement technology for the comprehensive testing of power semiconductor systems.
As software becomes an increasingly vital part of DC charging solutions, we’re helping to develop charger operating systems and backend ops-support software. Safety and stability define our engineering aspirations.
Our history
2024
Upgrade of the HYC150 to the HYC200 by implementing the 100 kW SiC Power-Stack.
2024
Alpitronic began global expansion, opening new branches in Charlotte (USA) and Milton Keynes (England).
2023
Upgrade of the Power-Stack from 75 kW to 100 kW by implementing the 50 kW Power-Unit of the HYC50. This paved the way for the introduction of the world's most efficient charging station, the HYC400 (an advancement of the HYC300).
2023
Company expansion into the EU, with the opening of new locations in Munich, Bergamo, and Bologna.
2022
Development of the power electronics of the Hypercharger based on silicon carbide (SiC), followed by the introduction of the HYC50, an ultra-compact wallbox.
2018
The first public Hypercharger was installed in Merano, Italy, marking the start of Alpitronic's success story and exponential growth.
2018
Serial production began for the Hypercharger models HYC150 and HYC300. Based on the innovative modular Power-Stack concept, they offered scalable power of up to 300 kW.
2017
Launch of the Hypercharger – At EVS30 in Stuttgart, Alpitronic unveiled the Hypercharger, an all-in-one concept that redefines EV charging by offering unparalleled high power within a new level of compactness.
2015
Relocation to the new company headquarters in Bozen with its own laboratory facilities, including a specialized power cycling laboratory offering load change tests as a service.
2013
Development and production of a small series of modular power electronics (AC/AC converters) for aircraft ground power supply (Hitzinger), which served as the technological basis for the Power-Stack of the Hypercharger.
2010
The company initiated its first development project (traction inverter) for BMW in the field of electro mobility. Additionally, the company developed its own power cycling test benches (PCTB).
2010
Alpitronic successfully filed a patent for a resonant switching inverter. This served as a gateway for various development projects for diverse OEMs in the aerospace and industrial sectors.
2009
Alpitronic was founded at TIS Innovations Park in Bozen, Italy, by four electrical engineers, Andreas Oberrauch, Alessandro Ciceri, Sigrid Zanon, and Philipp Senoner. Concentrating on advanced power electronics, the company embarked on a mission to spearhead innovations in the industry.
